Laptop computers, also called notebook computers, are functionally similar to the desktop computers. Today, laptops are mainly used by almost all computer professionals and business people. The life of a desktop computer is usually around 3 years compared to a laptop which lasts for about a 1 ½ years if you run on updated software applications. Hence you need to buy a laptop computer that has a configuration to meet your needs.
There are different types of laptop computers but the 4 broad categories are, ultraportable laptop computers, mid-sized or popular laptops, gaming laptops and business laptops. The size of the laptop computer varies in each category and the cost differs according.

1. Find out what type of warranty is offered
Before choosing your laptop, find out what type of warranty is offered with it. A warranty will cover the cost of repairs or replacements under certain conditions for at least a year. Sometimes it's worth paying extra for an extended warranty, especially if you are buying a more expensive laptop.

Your laptop will usually come with a powerful processor, though it's worth comparing the different types.You can select choose as according to your requirement.If you use laptop with heavy software and big capacity of the hard disk you have to select processor hight end
b.Ram Or Memory
RAM is a temporary information storage for a laptop which is occupied with the information related to the task you are performing or the software you are currently using. The more Ram or memory your laptop has the better it can perform multitasking or run multiple software simultaneously.
The minimum recommended these days is 1 Gigabyte of RAM memory. Some experts recommend a minimum of 2 Gigabytes. The more memory you have, the better the performance and multitasking you can expect from your Notebook or laptop

A graphics card is the most important thing in gaming, design and editing video. Your choice of Graphics Card can affect the quality of the display and the speed at which information is displayed. Many Graphics Cards include features to speed up display of, some or all of: 2D graphics (example: business charts), 3D graphics (example: games), or video playback (example: playing back a DVD disk).

The speed and capacity of the hard disk of your laptop or Notebook are important, for this is where you will install all your software and your data. You can select a lower budget laptop if you only want to do word processing, browse the web and access your e-mail.
